Home Improvements

Architectural Control Committee approval process

Approval Required Before Construction

No building shall be erected, placed, altered, modified, or expanded on any lot until the construction plans, specifications, and plot plan have been approved in writing by the Architectural Control Committee of Wilderness Trails subdivision.

How to Submit a Request

  1. Submit the Request for Home Improvement Approval form online — at least 30 days before commencement of construction to ensure adequate review time by the Architectural Control Committee and resolution of any issues related to the approval.
  2. Click the confirmation link we email you — that sends your request to the committee and begins the review period. Your receipt email includes a private link to track progress.
  3. Questions before you submit? Send the Architectural Control Committee a message.
  4. Wait for written approval before beginning construction.

Building Standards

The ACC Building Standards document describes the requirements improvements must meet - consult it before planning your project.

Building Standards (Rev 5)

Projects that commonly require approval include new construction and additions, fences, decks, patios, exterior paint color changes, pools, sheds and outbuildings, and roof replacements - see the Building Standards and Deed Restrictions for specifics.

Some home improvements may also require inspection and permits from the City of Friendswood. Please visit the City of Friendswood website for details.
